Quinoa Pulao

 

Ingredients:

  • Quinoa - 1 cup (Red)
  • Dal (Door or Channa or Moong) - 1/2 cup (Red)
  • Carrot -1 
  • Potato - 1
  • Onion - 1
  • Green peas - 1/4 cup
  • Ginger Garlic paste - 1 Table spoon
  • Green Chili - 5
  • Turmeric - 1/4 TSP
  • Cumin Powder - 1/4 TSP
  • Garam Masala - 1 TSP
  • Chili Powder - One pinch
  • Pepper Powder - One pinch
  • Asafoetida /Perungayam - one pinch
  • Oil 2 TSP
  • Water - 2 1/4 cup (Red) 
  • Lemon Juice - 1/4 lemon


Hint: 1.5 cup water for 1 cup Quinoa and Dal.


Preparation:

  1. Soak Quinoa and Dal for minimum 30 minutes
  2. Keep the cooker and add oil 
  3. Put spices like non veg preparation
  4. Mustard, Cumin and moon dal
  5. Add Green Chili
  6. Add all the vegetables and fry for 10 mins
  7. Add Ginger Garlic paste
  8. Add Turmeric, Chili powder, Cumin powder, Pepper Powder
  9. Add soaked Quinoa and Dal and fry for 5 mins
  10. Add salt
  11. Add water
  12. Add Lemon Juice
  13. Pressure cook for 3 whistles
  14. Cool, serve, and enjoy!
